Welcome

A Grateful Heart

I have an especially grateful heart as we look ahead to Thanksgiving this year. Sarah and I continue to be overjoyed as we expect our first child in March. I’m also grateful for the Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast that we are able to enjoy with such a wonderful congregation.

If you have been before, you know that the coffee is hot, the fellowship is genuine, and pancakes are delicious. If you have never come before, this may be the year to start a new holiday tradition. Beyond the event itself, this is also an opportunity to have "Pancakes for a Purpose" as the proceeds support the youth mission projects and trips.

Since my heart is full of gratitude for expecting our first child and being with family and friends at the Pancake Breakfast, why not combine the two? So we have decided that on Thanksgiving morning, Sarah and I will make the "big reveal" about whether we are having a boy or girl! Thanksgiving seems the best day of any to express our gratitude and excitement. We are looking forward to this festive occasion to share the news with our church family.

As we hear throughout scripture and in Psalm 107:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his faithful love endures forever.” May we all, each in our own way, find ways to have grateful hearts and give thanks to God as we prepare for Thanksgiving. What are you grateful for?
