Welcome

Strength Through Christ

This week I'm reporting live from the Urban Plunge, which is our middle school mission trip! We've traveled to Washington D.C. and have served with a various organizations throughout the city.

Our work has included gardening at the National Colonial Farm, sorting produce at Bread for the City, doing street outreach with Capitol Hill Group Ministry, gleaning with the D.C. Central Kitchen, and organizing donations with our host, Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church. We've walked miles and handed out cold water to strangers, all while focusing on our theme of having a "Can Do Faith."

This week we've focused on the Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Philippi. In Phillipians 4:13, Paul famously writes, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This week we've faced the summer heat, had sore feet, and slept on the floor. Though we've faced temporary discomfort, we are reminded by Paul that even in the face of hardships, we can do all things through Christ, who is our strength. A mission trip is a wonderful opportunity to be reminded of this truth, but no matter where this week finds you, may we all remember the strength that is ours through Christ, our Redeemer.
