Digging Deeper
Sundays, June 7-28
8:45 a.m. | Gloucester Room
What does it mean to live faithfully in a world that often feels uncertain, unjust, or even meaningless? In this class, we will explore the book of Ecclesiastes through Christopher J. H. Wright’s "Hearing the Message of Ecclesiastes," following the voice of Qoheleth as he wrestles with life “under the sun.” With honesty and depth, Ecclesiastes names the tensions we all experience—the beauty of life alongside its fragility, the value of work alongside its limits, and the persistent questions that resist easy answers.
Together, we will engage themes of time, suffering, vocation, wealth, and worship, discovering how this ancient wisdom speaks into our contemporary moment. Wright guides us not toward simple conclusions, but toward a deeper, more resilient faith—one that can hold ambiguity, acknowledge mystery, and still trust in God’s goodness. Come prepared for thoughtful conversation, faithful questioning, and a renewed capacity to live with both realism and hope.
Dr. Joshua Yoder will lead this class.
