Choosing Joy—No Matter What!

Wednesdays, September 23, 30, October 7

Life brings moments of celebration, but it also brings disappointment, uncertainty, grief, and change. Family responsibilities, health concerns, relationships, financial pressures, and the challenges of our world can make joy feel distant. Yet joy is more than a fleeting emotion—it is a way of living that can sustain us through every season.

In this three-week series, Choosing Joy—No Matter What!, we will explore the Eight Pillars of Joy and discover how the habits, attitudes, and perspectives we cultivate can either hinder or deepen our experience of joy. Together, we'll identify common obstacles to joy and learn practical, life-giving practices that help us navigate life's challenges with greater resilience, gratitude, and hope.

As part of our journey, we'll read selected passages from The Book of Joy, drawing wisdom from The 14th Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. Despite decades marked by exile, persecution, and oppression, both leaders offer profound insights into living with joy, compassion, and courage in the face of adversity.

Led by BMPC member, life coach, and meditation leader Terry Charlton, this interactive class offers a welcoming space for reflection, discussion, and spiritual growth. Whether you're seeking encouragement during a difficult season or simply hoping to cultivate a deeper sense of joy in everyday life, you'll find practical tools and meaningful conversation along the way.
