Today I write to you with good news! The epic choir tour to the Holy Land, originally scheduled for 2020, took place this past summer. At last, the time has come to tell you all about our experiences in Israel and Jordan.
This Sunday at 11:15 a.m., join me in Congregational Hall where you’ll enjoy photos, listen to live recordings from the tour, watch several short video clips from concerts and impromptu gatherings, and hear from several travelers. You’ll journey from Tel Aviv to Jaffa, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Masada, and Petra, Jordan.
Before and after the presentation you are welcome to stop by the BMPC Art Gallery and enjoy Bill Kemmerer’s incredible photos from the tour. Bill is a master photographer and a veteran of many choir tours. (One colleague, upon seeing one of the larger photos, exclaimed, “Wow, this is National Geographic level photography!”)
Over several decades, hundreds of singers and friends of the choir have traveled across the northern and southern hemispheres, meeting strangers, making friends in faraway places, and reaching into underserved communities. This tour to the Holy Land continued that great BMPC tradition. It is our honor to invite you into our lives and into the experience of choir travel.
(Coming up: On Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. you’ll have the opportunity to hear one of the greatest organists in the world. Vincent Dubois is one of three organists at Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. Fifty percent of the proceeds from his concert will go directly to Notre Dame in order to help support rebuilding efforts.)
