Even though we are continuing as a Virtual Community this fall, we are still able to come together to strengthen existing relationships in our congregation and make new and meaningful connections.
For six weeks this October and early November we will create virtual Small Groups, especially for those who are looking for a place of connection this season.
Led by members of the congregation, these groups of approximately 10 people will meet weekly to check in, hold one another in prayer, and discuss Ben Meyers’ book, The Apostle’s Creed: A Guide to the Ancient Catechism. The book is a beautiful and compelling meditation on the familiar words of the Creed that expands their meaning into the fullness of the experience of the Christian faith.
The project will end in November, with a larger gathering of all the small groups and the pastors on Sunday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. to talk about the book, our strength as a community, and the ways that our ancient faith supports us in being a modern church.
Watch a short conversation between the Rev. Rebecca Kirkpatrick and Dr. Joshua Yoder as they review the various Church Fathers quoted in Ben Myers’ book - The Apostle’s Creed: A Guide to the Ancient Catechism.
