David serves as our Interim Associate Pastor for Youth Ministry, after serving as the Seminary Intern for Youth & Young Adult Ministry at our church since 2015.
David grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, and was nurtured in faith at the First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss, NC. During his sophomore year at Montreat College, he found a new spiritual home at Montreat Presbyterian Church; his engagement led him to found Montreat College UKirk (campus ministry), serve as an intern at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Asheville, NC, and as a student pastor at Paint Gap Presbyterian Church.
While pursuing a Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary, David served as a Young Adult Advisory Delegate to the General Assembly in 2014, and completed his CPE at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. After seminary, David took part in the Global Institute of Theology of the World Communion of Reformed Churches at Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal/Bethel.
His commitment to exploring the intersections of LGBTQ identity, ecumenics and social ethics frames his pastoral vision for a faith community where all youth can experience the embrace of God’s radical love.
David began his ministry with us in his current role in January 2018.
