Welcome to Y-Group!
About Y-Group:
Y-Group is a Presbyterian Women Interest Group, principally
for women with children elementary age and younger. You don’t have to be a
member of BMPC to join. We traditionally offer monthly events from September to
May.
In 2008-2009,
Y-Group offered a series of lectures and activities focused on a
variety of aspects of the busy life of a mother. While all Y-Group
members are mothers, we realize that there are many other sides to
ourselves and our lives that also need our attention. Our monthly
meetings covered topics in areas such as wellness (including a
mini-yoga session!), spirituality, marriage, and family. In
addition, Y-Group members participated in a number of mission
projects: decorating stocking for Presbyterian Children’s Village,
making casseroles for the Hunger Task Force, making Mother’s Day
Baskets for the woman at St. Barnabas, collecting baby items for the
Maternity Care Coalition and collecting career clothing for women
trying to enter the workforce. Also, there have been monthly book
group meetings and social events, like dinners, hayrides and Easter
Egg hunts. It’s been a busy year!
We welcome new
faces and new ideas at any time during the year. You can do as many
or as few of the activities as your schedule allows. Y-Group
