BMPC in Honduras

Meg Waldron to Represent BMPC in Honduras (from May 2004 Messenger)

BMPC members Jim Harrison and Meg Waldron joined members of Westminster Presbyterian on their recent February trip to the rural city of La Entrada, Honduras, to assist the team in efforts to establish a health clinic for the poor. Meg taught school there in 2000 and was happy to return to translate for the visiting doctors as well as to drive the team around to potential clinic sites. Meg also met with another foundation wanting to build a cancer hospice while Jim, whose  Mission Relief Services Foundation ships medical supplies to needy countries, created needs lists for the various projects. Meg’s hope is that these bridges with Westminster Presbyterian and the people of Honduras can create service opportunities for the congregation of Bryn Mawr.

Meg is BMPC's first short-term Mission Representative, as she returned this May to Honduras for three months to assist with various projects in the hope that other members of our congregation will come to Honduras to contribute and grow as she has. During her stay, Meg will keep us up-to-date with regular email communication and pictures.
