Hands Along the Nile (HANDS)
 
Provides comprehensive development work in Egypt.  Resources to initiate the development process include personnel and materials, training for local leadership to continue projects in education, health, agriculture, economic development, and Christian education.

Hands Along the Nile Development Services, Inc. (HANDS) is an American nonprofit organization created to help Egyptians -both Christian and Muslim -- combat poverty, overpopulation, malnutrition, disease, illiteracy, pollution and poor housing by generating support in North America for Egyptian churches and church related schools, hospitals, social services and community development organizations. HANDS has a direct relationship with the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), the oldest and largest non-governmental, community development agency in Egypt.

In February 2000, BMPC, joined with HANDS and CEOSS in building a partnership helping to support transformational development in the village of Jafar in Central Egypt, about 390 km south of Cairo. Our participation in helping to improve education, the environment & housing, agriculture, health, and economic development. Over the coming months, we will begin to receive personal updates on the progress of projects, as well as individual stories from the people of Jafar.
