On Sunday, February 21, Diane Giombetti, on behalf of the Worldwide Ministries Council, and Sue Gibbons, on behalf of the Outreach Council, spoke to the congregation during worship. Please take this opportunity to hear what they said about our financial situation. Click here to listen. This year’s stewardship campaign has chosen a familiar passage, which we hope will evolve your thoughts on stewardship further, and place them right in the middle of your belief in God. Christ calls on us to love God with all our heart and all our mind. Christ then calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves. To love is by definition to be generous – to share with, to be open to, and to provide for others. The same love God provides to us we need to provide to our neighbors. In these simple commandments, we see how giving is central to our faith. Our church has a long history of being generous. We share our buildings with those who need them. We share our talents and our time by volunteering for neighbors here in Philadelphia and literally across the country and around the world. We share our financial resources through contributions that change lives. It is this legacy of giving, this spirit of generosity, which we cannot allow to be challenged in this time of transition at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. We pray that we will challenge each other to step up our giving at this church, and to step forward to participate in our church’s many ministries and missions. We need your commitment to meet the needs of our many neighbors here and around the world. In Christ,
