The Parish Nurse Ministry

Roles of the Parish Nurse

•Health Educator
The Parish Nurse is available to teach health/wellness courses to church members individually and in groups. She seeks to promote an understanding of the relationship between lifestyle attitudes, faith and well-being.

•Health and Wellness Counselor
The Parish Nurse is available to visit church members upon request. She also makes calls at the pastors’ requests.

•Referral Source
The Parish Nurse serves as a referral source for health information and available community medical resources. (She does not make direct referrals to individual practitioners.)

•Facilitator
The Parish Nurse welcomes any BMPC volunteers who wish to work on programs supportive of the ministry.
