Presbyterian Women Benevolences 2010
On behalf of the Presbyterian Women, I would like to thank you for your
contribution which made it possible for Presbyterian Women to provide
needed support to organizations in the community. Listed below are
the organization which received funds from PW in 2009. Thanks again
for your tremendous support!
Presbyterian Children’s Village - $2000.00
PCV offers residential and community based programs to troubled children
and their families in a nurturing and therapeutic environment. This
agency also receives other forms of support from PW throughout the year.

BMPC
Hunger Task Force - $1000.00
This program sponsors soup kitchens, food collections and casserole
making in order to provide nourishment for those in the Philadelphia
area who cannot obtain adequate sustenance. The HTF also addresses
world-wide hunger through “Bread for the World”. This year’s benevolence
will focus on supporting much needed summer casseroles.

Other Carpenter - $1000.00
This organization assists homeowners in the East Parkside community of
West Philadelphia with the maintenance and improvement of their homes.

West
Philadelphia Children’s Choir - $300.00
This
choir consists of 3rd to 6th grade children from 2
West Philadelphia schools, Rhoades Elementary and Blackenburg
Elementary. Auditions are required, and performances take place at
area-wide festivals and events.
Interfaith
Hospitality Network (IHN) of the Main Line - $700.00
IHN serves homeless
families by providing temporary housing; meals; child care; and
financial, family, educational (GED or college) and job training to
homeless parents with children. A dozen churches and synagogues host
these families for a week at a time during their 13-week stay in IHN.
More than 80% of IHN graduates continue to live independently after
completing the program.
