Mission Statement:

The Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Outreach Council is committed to the model of Christ as the standard from which it takes its direction and against which its efforts are measured.  The Outreach Council partners with and supports God’s people in need in the Philadelphia area for our mutual growth.

Directives:

The Council ascribes to:

  •  Responsive and responsible stewardship
  •  Engaging and coordinating with councils & church members to build partnerships and to provide Hands-On relational service opportunities.

Focus:
The Outreach Council concentrates effort and funding in two ministry areas:

  •  Community-based ministries and programs that serve West Philadelphia residents.  Upon the occasion of our church’s 125th anniversary (1998), we made a long-term commitment to partner with churches and organizations in West Philadelphia to make our world “a better place” for children and families in West Philadelphia.  The Outreach Council continues to promote this vision.

  •  Ministries with an affiliation with the Presbytery of Philadelphia.
The Outreach Council continues support of church-community programs directed by regional Presbyterian Churches including Chester Eastside Ministries and John Gloucester House, and new initiatives such as West Kensington Ministry, Broad Street Ministries, Hispanic Mission at Central Presbyterian Church.

Oversight:

In addition to the above, the Outreach Council is charged to oversee:
